About
Connecting Our Community
We’re uniting Estevan through support, resources, and community initiatives to create a safer, stronger future.
Since 2023
In 2023, a provincial government pilot project supported the development of Estevan’s Community Safety & Well-Being Plan. Our committee ensures that this plan creates a lasting impact through collaboration and action.
Our Mission
We strive to strengthen Estevan by working together across sectors, creating a safer, healthier, and more supportive community where everyone has access to the resources they need to thrive.
Our Vision
Our vision is a thriving Estevan where safety, well-being, and support systems are sustained across generations, ensuring a stronger, more connected community for everyone—now and in the future.
Our Priority Areas
We are committed to fostering a safer, more connected community that cares for and supports one another. This shaped our four key priority areas, which are:
Mental Wellness
Substance Abuse and Addiction
Education and Employment
Victimization
Our Values
- Inclusive: We are committed to respectful and meaningful engagement with all residents, community-based organizations, and agencies. We will ensure that individuals with lived experience help guide the committee’s work.
- Data Driven and Evidence-Based: Our approach will be data-driven and will recognize lived experience as a valid form of evidence. Goals and outcomes will be measurable and publicly reported.
- Working with Humility and Open-Mindedness: We will create safer spaces while acknowledging that safety means different things to different people. We will remain open to uncomfortable conversations and engage with humility, recognizing our own advantages, disadvantages, assumptions, and biases.
- Intentional Continuous Development: Growth and learning are ongoing, and mistakes are part of the process. We commit to fostering a plan that evolves alongside our community’s needs.
